During these crazy Coronavirus times, we're all looking for a little return-to-normalcy in our lives. After all, life must go on. Birthdays and holidays should still be honored (albeit, in a different manner). And I can't think of a better way to celebrate a loved one or holiday then with a sweet treat from Emporio Rulli. Rulli's world famous panettone and pastries are an Easter tradition for many Bay Area families. Their panettone Milanese, in particular, is a national treasure. I don't even have much of a sweet tooth, but I dream about this Italian sweet bread filled with raisins, candied fruit peels, and brandy. This European masterpiece pairs perfectly with coffee (I highly recommend enjoying it with a dollop of fresh whipped cream), and makes for a memorable dessert. And if you're tired of bringing a bottle of wine to a friend's dinner party, these panettones are a wonderful housewarming gift and a yummy addition to most family meals. I just want to thank Emporio Rulli for working tirelessly to produce these wonderful baked goods. Because of Gary & Jeannie Rulli and their hardworking staff, this past Easter still felt relatively normal and worth celebrating. I also want to applaud them for all their community efforts. In addition to working around the clock in the kitchen, they're also delivering free meals to local health care workers in the front lines. So Emporio Rulli - cheers to you and all that you do!
